The in-between of departure & arrival
Layovers and unexpected delays are inevitable when traveling through airports. Due to the lack of amenities offered in airports, passengers are left with limited choices as they await their flights. The atrium in The Westin hotel at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport has potential to enhance the traveler experience by providing opportunities for lounging, relaxing, exploring, dining, remote work, and recreation. This project aims to provide an escape, emphasizing the journey, rather than the destination.
